Directions

  • Add the milk, pumpkin purée, brown sugar, pumpkin pie spice, and vanilla extract to a small saucepan.

  • Heat over medium-low heat, whisking frequently, until the mixture is hot and smooth. Do not allow it to boil.

  • Divide the freshly brewed coffee between two mugs.

  • Pour the warm pumpkin-spice milk mixture evenly into each mug and stir well.

  • Top with whipped cream and a light sprinkle of cinnamon or pumpkin pie spice, if desired.

  • Serve immediately while warm.

RECIPE TIPS

  • Use plain pumpkin purée—not pumpkin pie filling—and whisk the milk mixture well so the pumpkin blends smoothly into the coffee without settling at the bottom.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Can I make this without pumpkin purée?

Yes. Leave out the purée and add a little extra pumpkin pie spice for a spiced coffee without the pumpkin flavor.

  • Can I use a different type of milk?

Yes. Whole milk, half-and-half, almond milk, oat milk, or any milk you enjoy will work.

  • Can I make it less sweet?

Absolutely. Start with 1 tablespoon of brown sugar, taste the coffee, and add more only if needed.

  • Can I make Pumpkin Spice Coffee ahead of time?

Yes. Prepare the pumpkin-spice milk mixture and refrigerate it for up to 3 days. Reheat and add it to freshly brewed coffee when ready to serve.

  • Can I serve this coffee cold?

Yes. Let the coffee and pumpkin mixture cool, then pour them over ice for an easy iced pumpkin spice coffee.
