Ingredients

▢ 6 tablespoons butter, softened
▢ ½ teaspoon salt
▢ ¼ teaspoon black pepper
▢ 1 cup water
▢ 6 small sheets aluminum foil

Ingredients
Directions
Set Up the Instant Pot
-
Pour 1 cup of water into the Instant Pot and place the trivet inside.
-
Set the Instant Pot sling on the counter and arrange the foil-wrapped corn on it.
-
Using the handles, carefully lower the sling and corn into the Instant Pot, placing it securely on the trivet. Fold the sling handles inward so they do not interfere with the lid.
Pressure Cook the Corn
-
Close and lock the lid. Set the steam-release valve to the sealing position.
-
Select Manual or Pressure Cook and cook on High Pressure for 7 minutes.
-
When the cooking time ends, carefully perform a quick release. Wait until the pressure pin drops completely before opening the lid.
Serve
-
Carefully remove the foil-wrapped corn from the Instant Pot. Open each packet away from your face because hot steam will escape.
-
Serve hot with additional butter, salt, or pepper if desired.
RECIPE TIPS
-
Wrap each piece of corn tightly with the foil seam facing upward. This helps keep the melted butter and seasonings inside the packet while the corn pressure cooks.
Frequently Asked Questions
-
Can I use frozen corn on the cob?
-
Yes. Frozen Nibblers work great for this recipe. Thaw them before adding the butter and seasonings so the foil packets cook evenly.
-
How much water should I add to the Instant Pot?
-
Add 1 cup of water to the inner pot. The water creates the steam needed for the Instant Pot to reach pressure.
-
Can I cook more or fewer pieces of corn?
-
Yes. You can adjust the number of corn pieces as long as they fit comfortably without going above the Instant Pot’s maximum-fill line. The pressure-cooking time remains the same.
-
-
How do I know when the corn is cooked?
-
-
The kernels should be hot, tender, and easily pierced with a fork. If you prefer softer corn, close the foil and let it rest for a few minutes before serving.
-
How should I store and reheat leftover corn?
-
Remove the corn from the foil and refrigerate it in an airtight container for up to four days. Reheat it in the microwave with a little butter until warmed through.
