BBQ LiL Smokies
These Instant pot little smokies are amazing, made with homemade bbq sauce and perfect for tailgating, parties, and football season! Slip a toothpick in each one and they make the perfect appetizer. What Are Little Smokies?
You might know these little guys as cocktail sausages or cocktail weenies. Little Smokies are miniature smoked pork sausages that are found in the refrigerated meat section of most grocery stores. Walmart, Kroger's, Costco, Etc They are as easy to prepare, You can boil, fry or microwave them. Or, as in this recipe here Instant Pot them in a tasty sauce, or in a crock pot and serve hot. Add them Macaroni and Cheese (delish!)

You Will Need

☐ 2 (14-ounce) packages Little Smokies sausages (28 ounces total)
☐ 1 (18-ounce) bottle Sweet Baby Ray's Hickory & Brown Sugar Barbecue Sauce
Tip:
The secret is don't rush them. Let the sauce slowly cook down until it almost looks like a sticky glaze. The sugars in the Sweet Baby Ray's caramelize and the Little Smokies get lightly browned, giving them incredible flavor.
Directions

Pour the Little Smokies into a large nonstick skillet or sauté pan over medium heat.

Add the entire bottle of Sweet Baby Ray's Hickory & Brown Sugar BBQ Sauce and stir until every sausage is coated.

Bring the sauce to a gentle simmer.

Reduce the heat to medium-low and cook 25-30 minutes, stirring every 3-5 minutes to prevent sticking.

As the sauce cooks, it will thicken and reduce. Continue cooking until:

The Little Smokies develop browned spots.

The BBQ sauce becomes thick and glossy.

The sauce clings tightly to each sausage instead of pooling in the pan.

Once the sauce has caramelized and the sausages are beautifully coated, remove from the heat and serve immediately.
