Take your pick and enjoy this classic dish your way! How to make Classic Southern Chicken and Dumplings in the instant Pot Begin by cutting the frozen buttermilk biscuits into quarters. Place the quartered biscuits and shredded chicken into your Instant Pot. Pour 4 cups of chicken broth into the Instant Pot, ensuring that the biscuits and chicken are covered by the broth. Set the Instant Pot to "sealing" mode, not venting. Select the "Manual" or "Pressure Cook" setting on high pressure for 8 minutes. Once the cooking time is complete, perform a quick release by carefully turning the steam release valve to venting position when the pressure valve goes down. After releasing the pressure and it's safe to do so, open the lid of the Instant Pot. Stir in the cream, sweet peas, carrots, Italian seasoning, garlic salt, and Greek seasoning. Continue to stir until the mixture reaches your desired thickness. If you prefer a thinner consistency, you can add an additional cup of chicken broth. Serve the chicken and dumplings hot, garnished with extra seasoning if desired. Thank you so much for supporting my site How to make Classic Southern Chicken and Dumplings On The Stovetop In a large pot or Dutch oven, add the 4 cups of chicken broth and bring it to a gentle simmer over medium heat. Add the shredded chicken to the simmering broth and stir to combine. Allow the chicken to heat through. While the chicken is heating, prepare the dumplings. Take the quartered frozen buttermilk biscuits and drop them into the simmering broth one at a time, stirring gently after each addition to prevent sticking. Cover the pot and let the dumplings simmer for about 10-15 minutes, or until they are cooked through and no longer doughy in the center. Stir occasionally. While the dumplings are cooking, in a separate saucepan, heat the cream over low heat. If desired, you can add 2 tablespoons of butter for added richness. When the dumplings are fully cooked and the cream is warmed, add the warmed cream to the pot, followed by the sweet peas, carrots, Italian seasoning , garlic salt, and Greek seasoning. Stir gently to combine. Continue to simmer for an additional 5-10 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld together and the peas and carrots to heat through. Taste and adjust the seasoning as needed. Serve hot, and enjoy!~ Thank you so much for supporting my site Cla ssic Southern Chicken and Dumplings Tips Use High-Quality Chicken Broth: The quality of your chicken broth can greatly impact the flavor of your dish. If possible, use homemade chicken broth or a high-quality store-bought version for the best results. Season Generously: Don't be shy with your seasonings. Chicken and Dumplings benefit from well-seasoned broth and dumplings. Taste and adjust the seasonings as needed. Fresh Herbs: If you have fresh herbs on hand, consider using them to enhance the flavor. Herbs like thyme, rosemary, and parsley can add a burst of freshness to your dish. Homemade Dumplings: While frozen biscuits are convenient, making dumplings from scratch with simple ingredients like flour, baking powder, salt, and buttermilk can take your dish to the next level in terms of texture and flavor. Shredded Chicken: If you have leftover roasted or rotisserie chicken, it can be a great option for this recipe. The flavor of pre-cooked chicken can be more intense and add depth to the dish. Creamy Consistency: Adjust the amount of cream or dairy to achieve your desired level of creaminess. Some prefer a thicker, creamier texture, while others like it more broth-like. Fresh Vegetables: If you prefer fresh vegetables over canned ones, you can use them. Just chop and cook them a bit longer to ensure they're tender. Optional Extras: Feel free to customize your dish with optional extras like diced onions, celery, or bell peppers for added flavor and texture. Spice It Up: If you enjoy a little heat, add some red pepper flakes, hot sauce, or cayenne pepper to the recipe for a spicy kick. Don't Overmix Dumplings: When adding the dumplings to the broth, be gentle and avoid overmixing. Overmixing can lead to dense and tough dumplings. Let It Rest: Allow your Chicken and Dumplings to rest for a few minutes after cooking. This can help the flavors meld and the dumplings to absorb some of the delicious broth. Garnish: Garnish your finished dish with fresh herbs, grated Parmesan cheese, or a sprinkle of your favorite seasoning for an extra pop of flavor and presentation.

Shrimp: Grilled or sautéed shrimp can be a fantastic addition for a seafood twist. Tofu: For a vegetarian option, marinate and pan-fry tofu cubes to add protein. Nuts and Seeds: Toasted Almonds or Pecans: Reintroduce the crunch factor by adding toasted, slivered almonds or pecans. Sunflower Seeds: Sprinkle sunflower seeds for an added nutty flavor and texture. Cheese Variations: Goat Cheese: Substitute feta with creamy goat cheese for a different tangy note. Blue Cheese: For a bolder flavor, crumbled blue cheese pairs well with the sweetness of strawberries. Additional Fruits: Sliced Apples: Add crisp apple slices for a sweet and crunchy element. Mandarin Oranges: Incorporate mandarin orange segments for a citrusy twist. Blueberries or Raspberries: These berries complement strawberries beautifully. Herbs and Greens: Arugula: Mix in some arugula leaves for a peppery contrast to the sweet strawberries. Fresh Mint or Basil: Chopped fresh herbs can enhance the overall freshness of the salad. Crunchy Croutons: Homemade or store-bought croutons can be a satisfying addition for extra texture. Dressing Variations: Raspberry Vinaigrette: Swap the balsamic vinaigrette for a homemade or store-bought raspberry vinaigrette for a fruitier dressing. Lemon Poppyseed Dressing: Create a zesty and slightly sweet dressing by incorporating lemon juice, honey, and poppy seeds. Grains: Quinoa: For added heartiness and nutrition, mix cooked quinoa into the salad. Avocado: Sliced avocado can add creaminess and healthy fats to the salad. Thank you so much for supporting my site To store the Strawberry Spinach Salad with Feta (including cherry tomatoes) and keep it fresh for later consumption, follow these steps: Refrigeration: Store the salad in an airtight container or a sealable plastic bag to prevent air from reaching the salad. Make sure the container is clean and dry. Keep Dressing Separate: If possible, store the dressing separately from the salad. This helps prevent the salad from becoming soggy. Temperature: Refrigerate the salad as soon as possible, ideally within two hours of preparation. Store it at a temperature of 35-40°F (1-4°C). Seal Properly: Ensure the container or bag is properly sealed to maintain freshness and prevent odors from the refrigerator from affecting the salad. Layering: If you must store the salad with the dressing, consider layering the ingredients. Place the heartier and less absorbent ingredients (like the spinach, strawberries, cherry tomatoes) at the bottom and the more delicate items (like the feta) at the top. Use within 2-3 Days: Consume the salad within 2-3 days to ensure it stays fresh and safe to eat. The salad may become less crisp over time. Toss Before Serving: Before serving, give the salad a gentle toss to redistribute the dressing and ensure an even coating. Remember that the salad may not be as crisp after refrigeration, especially if it has been dressed in advance. By keeping the dressing separate and following these storage guidelines, you can help maintain the salad's texture and flavor when you're ready to enjoy it. Creating your own cumin is a gratifying and straightforward process that allows you to experience the transformation of raw seeds into a delightful spice. The end product is a fragrant and flavorful addition to your favorite dishes, presenting a unique touch that enhances their overall taste. Making your own cumin provides a rewarding sense of accomplishment, knowing that you've crafted a spice that elevates your meals with its distinct essence. You Will Need 1.5 cups whole cumin seeds 8 tablespoons Chili Powder Thank you so much for supporting my site Directions Toasting the Cumin Seeds: Preheat a large skillet or pan over medium heat. Add the whole cumin seeds to the dry pan, spreading them in a single layer. Toast the cumin seeds gently, stirring occasionally, until they release a strong, aromatic fragrance. Be cautious not to over toast or burn them. Cooling: Transfer the toasted cumin seeds to a large flat plate or baking sheet to cool completely. Cooling ensures that the cumin retains its flavor and prevents condensation during the grinding process. Grinding: Once the cumin seeds have cooled, transfer them to a spice grinder or a heavy-duty blender. Grind the cumin seeds into a fine powder. If the batch is too large, work in smaller batches for more consistent results. Mixing with Chili Powder: In a large mixing bowl, combine the freshly ground cumin powder with the chili powder. The chili powder can be adjusted to your preferred heat level, depending on how spicy you want the blend to be. Blending (Optional): If you desire a smoother texture, blend the cumin and chili powder mixture together in the spice grinder or blender once more until fully combined. Storing: Transfer the homemade cumin and chili powder blend to airtight containers or glass jars with tight-fitting lids. Store the containers in a cool, dry, and dark place, away from direct sunlight. Labeling: Don't forget to label the containers with the date of preparation and the spiciness level for reference. Now you have a generous batch of homemade cumin and chili powder blend, perfect for adding a delightful kick to a variety of dishes. Season the eggs with a pinch of salt and a dash of pepper. Set the bowl aside. Place a frying pan over medium heat and add 2 teaspoons of butter. Allow the butter to melt and coat the bottom of the pan evenly. Add the diced onion and fresh asparagus pieces to the pan. Sauté them for about 15 to 20 minutes, or until the vegetables are slightly browned and tender. Stir occasionally to ensure even cooking. Once done, transfer the sautéed vegetables to a separate bowl and set aside. Using a folded paper towel, carefully wipe the hot pan to remove any residue. This will help prevent sticking. Return the pan to the heat and add the remaining 1 teaspoon of butter. Allow it to melt and coat the pan. Pour the whisked eggs into the pan, ensuring they spread evenly to cover the bottom. Sprinkle half of the shredded cheese over the eggs. Once the eggs start to set around the edges, gently add the sautéed onion and asparagus on one half of the omelette. Let the eggs continue to cook until the edges are completely set and the center is slightly jiggly. Using a spatula, carefully slide it under the side of the Omelette without the filling. Carefully fold that half over the side with the filling, creating a half-moon shape. Continue to cook the Omelette for another minute or so, allowing the cheese to melt and the center to cook through. Once the Omelette is cooked to your liking, carefully slide it onto a plate. Top the Omelette with the remaining shredded cheese and the sautéed vegetables that were set aside earlier. Serve your delicious Omelette with your favorite salsa on the side. The salsa adds a burst of flavor and a touch of freshness to the dish. Enjoy your Cheesy Asparagus and Onion Omelette with Sautéed Vegetables! This dish makes for a hearty and flavorful breakfast or brunch option that's sure to satisfy your taste buds. Thank you so much for supporting my site Here are some tips to help you make the most of this Cheesy Asparagus and Onion Omelette with Sautéed Vegetables recipe: Prep Ingredients: Before you start cooking, make sure to have all your ingredients prepped and ready to go. Dice the onion, trim and cut the asparagus, and have the cheese and butter measured out. Even Sauté: While sautéing the onion and asparagus, stir occasionally to ensure even browning. You want them to be tender and slightly caramelized, which will enhance their flavor. Pan Size: Choose a pan that's the right size for the number of eggs you're using. A pan that's too large may cause the eggs to spread too thin, while a small pan might make it challenging to fold the omelette. Low and Slow: When cooking the eggs, use medium-low heat. This prevents the eggs from cooking too quickly on the outside while leaving the center raw. A slower cook ensures a more even texture. Cheese Melting: Sprinkle half of the shredded cheese over the eggs once they're in the pan. The heat will help melt the cheese and integrate it into the omelette. Fillings Placement: When placing the sautéed vegetables on the eggs, try to concentrate them in the center or along one-third of the omelette, leaving space to fold. Folding Technique: For the tri-fold, fold one-third of the omelette over the center portion of the eggs and filling. Then, slide the omelette slightly towards the edge of the pan and fold the remaining third over the folded portion. This technique creates the classic tri-fold shape. Gentle Handling: When folding the omelette, use a gentle touch to prevent breaking the eggs. A flexible spatula is helpful for this purpose. Cooking Time: Keep an eye on the omelette's doneness. You want the edges to be set, and the center to be slightly soft but not runny. Overcooking can lead to a dry omelette. Plating and Presentation: When serving, top the omelette with the remaining cheese and sautéed vegetables for an appealing look. Don't forget to add your favorite salsa for a flavor boost. Experiment: Feel free to customize the recipe with additional herbs, spices, or other fillings you enjoy. Spinach, bell peppers, mushrooms, or diced ham are great options. Practice Makes Perfect: Omelette-making can take some practice to get the folding technique just right. Don't be discouraged if your first attempt isn't perfect—each try will likely improve your skills. Enjoy your cooking adventure, and have fun experimenting with this delicious Omelette recipe! Thank you so much for supporting my site Here are a few variations you can try to put a unique spin on the Cheesy Asparagus and Onion Omelette with Sautéed Vegetables recipe: Mediterranean Omelette: Instead of asparagus, use diced tomatoes, black olives, and feta cheese. Add a sprinkle of dried oregano and fresh chopped parsley for a Mediterranean flavor. Western Omelette: Incorporate diced bell peppers and cooked diced ham along with the sautéed onions. Use cheddar cheese and a touch of hot sauce for a classic Western omelette taste. Spinach and Mushroom Omelette: Sauté sliced mushrooms along with the onions. Add a handful of fresh spinach leaves to the omelette while it's cooking and allow them to wilt. Use Swiss or Gruyère cheese for a rich, earthy flavor. Tex-Mex Omelette: Use diced cooked chorizo or spicy sausage for extra flavor. Add diced avocado and a dollop of sour cream on top. Swap the salsa for a zesty pico de gallo. Smoked Salmon and Dill Omelette: Skip the sautéed vegetables and instead use smoked salmon and fresh dill. Incorporate cream cheese or goat cheese for creaminess and tanginess. Cheese Lover's Omelette: Use a mix of your favorite cheeses—cheddar, mozzarella, and pepper jack, for example. Skip the sautéed vegetables and focus on the cheesiness. Vegan Vegetable Omelette: Instead of eggs, use a chickpea flour-based batter for a vegan version. Sauté a variety of vegetables like bell peppers, zucchini, and spinach. Use dairy-free shredded cheese or a cashew-based cheese substitute. Greek Omelette: Incorporate diced kalamata olives, crumbled feta cheese, and chopped fresh parsley. Drizzle with a bit of olive oil before serving. Remember, these variations are just starting points. Feel free to mix and match ingredients to create your own unique Omelette recipes. The key is to balance flavors and textures while keeping the cooking technique in mind. Happy cooking!

Mix Cornstarch: Sprinkle the cornstarch over the sauce mixture. Whisk vigorously until the cornstarch is completely dissolved and no lumps remain. Heat the Sauce: Place the saucepan on the stovetop over medium heat. Simmer: As the mixture heats, it will begin to simmer and reach a gentle boil. Once it starts boiling, reduce the heat slightly to maintain a steady simmer. Thicken the Sauce: Continue stirring as the sauce simmers. It will gradually thicken, which typically takes about 3-5 minutes. Adjust Consistency (if needed): If the sauce becomes too thick, you can adjust the consistency by adding a small amount of water or broth and stirring it in. The combination of soy sauce, oyster sauce, sugar, and sesame oil should create a well-rounded and savory taste. Consistency: Achieving the right consistency is crucial. The sauce should be thick enough to coat the back of a spoon but not too thick. Adjust the amount of cornstarch to get the desired thickness. Sesame Oil Enhancement: The addition of sesame oil adds a distinct and aromatic flavor to the sauce. Use a high-quality sesame oil for the best results, and add it at the end to preserve its flavor. White Pepper: If you like a bit of heat, consider adding a dash of white pepper. It can enhance the overall flavor profile of the sauce. Taste Testing: Taste the sauce as you go and make adjustments according to your preferences. You might want to add a bit more soy sauce for saltiness or a touch more sugar for sweetness. Compatibility: Consider the other components of your Egg Foo Young dish. The sauce should complement the flavors of the egg patties and any accompanying vegetables or proteins. Double the Recipe: If you're making a large batch of Egg Foo Young, you can easily double the sauce recipe. It's always better to have a bit extra for dipping or drizzling. Freeze the Sauce: Label the container with the date and contents for reference. Place the container in the freezer. The sauce can be frozen for up to 3 months. Thaw in the Refrigerator: When you're ready to use the sauce, transfer it from the freezer to the refrigerator and let it thaw overnight. Reheat on the Stovetop: Once thawed, heat the sauce on the stovetop over medium heat. Bring it to a gentle simmer. Add Cornstarch Slurry: In a separate bowl, mix cornstarch with a small amount of cold water to create a slurry. Slowly whisk the cornstarch slurry into the reheated sauce while stirring continuously.
