Thank you so much for supporting my site To store your Creamy Parmesan Herb Potatoes and ensure they stay fresh and flavorful, follow these guidelines: Cool Down: Allow the cooked potatoes to cool down at room temperature for about 1 hour before refrigerating. This helps prevent condensation buildup, which can lead to sogginess. Refrigeration: Place the leftover potatoes in an airtight container. If you're storing them with the cheese topping, cover them with plastic wrap or aluminum foil before sealing the container. Refrigerate within 2 hours of cooking. Label and Date: It's a good practice to label the container with the date when you cooked the potatoes. This helps you keep track of their freshness. Storage Time: Parmesan Herb Potatoes can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3-4 days. The cheese might lose some crispness, but the flavors will still be enjoyable. Reheating: To reheat, you can use the microwave, oven, or stovetop. If using the oven, cover the dish with foil to prevent further browning of the cheese, then heat at a low temperature until warmed through. For the stovetop, use a non-stick pan and gently reheat over medium-low heat. Cheese Topping: If the cheese becomes less crispy after refrigeration, you can sprinkle additional Parmesan on top before reheating to restore some of the texture. Freezing (Optional): If you want to freeze the potatoes, do so without the cheese topping, as cheese can become soggy when frozen. Place the cooled potatoes in a freezer-safe container, leaving some space for expansion. Freeze for up to 2-3 months. Thaw in the refrigerator before reheating, and then add fresh cheese when reheating. Instead of just Italian herbs and basil, you can use rosemary, thyme, oregano, or a mix of your favorite fresh herbs. Different Cheese: While Parmesan is a classic choice, you can use other cheeses like cheddar, mozzarella, or Gouda for a unique flavor twist. Creamier Texture: For an even creamier texture, mix in a dollop of sour cream, Greek yogurt, or cream cheese with the butter and herbs before cooking. Additional Veggies: Introduce more vegetables to the mix. Add sliced bell peppers, mushrooms, or zucchini along with the potatoes for extra color and flavor. Crispy Topping: After baking, sprinkle some breadcrumbs mixed with herbs and melted butter over the potatoes before broiling. This adds an extra layer of texture. Spicy Kick: Add a pinch of red pepper flakes or cayenne pepper to the seasoning mix for a hint of heat. Balsamic Glaze: Drizzle some balsamic glaze over the potatoes before serving to add a sweet and tangy element. Grilled Variation: If weather permits, you can grill the halved potatoes in a foil packet with the butter and seasonings. Finish by adding the cheese and letting it melt on the grill. Vegetarian Option: Use vegetable broth instead of bone or meat-based broths to make this dish vegetarian-friendly. Creamy Alfredo Version: Swap the bone broth for heavy cream and Parmesan cheese for a luscious Alfredo-style potato dish. Asian Fusion: Use sesame oil, soy sauce, ginger, and green onions in place of the Italian herbs for an Asian-inspired twist. Feel free to get creative and mix and match elements from different variations to create your own unique version of this dish. The beauty of cooking is in experimenting and discovering new flavors that resonate with your palate.

If your broth is frozen, you can use the "Sauté" function to melt it. Stir occasionally until it's fully thawed. Add the corned beef, bacon, minced garlic, onion powder, salt, and pepper to the Instant Pot with the broth. Place the lid on the Instant Pot, ensuring that it's set to the "Sealing" position, not "Venting." Select the "Manual" or "Pressure Cook" function and set the timer for 90 minutes. When the timer goes off, allow the pressure valve to release naturally (NR), which means waiting for the pressure to drop on its own. This may take some time. Once the pressure valve has dropped, carefully do a quick release to release any remaining pressure. Carefully remove the corned beef from the Instant Pot and transfer it to a plate. It will be very tender, so be gentle. Leave the bacon in the cooking liquid, and cut it into small pieces. Cover the corned beef with aluminum foil and let it rest for about 10 minutes. While the corned beef is resting, prepare the vegetables. Quarter the cabbage, chop the red potatoes, measure the carrots, and quarter the onion. Add all the prepared vegetables to the Instant Pot with the cooking juices from the corned beef and bacon. Place the lid back on the Instant Pot and set the timer for 10 minutes. Once the timer is done, do a quick release to release the pressure. While the vegetables are cooking, slice the rested corned beef into thin slices. Transfer the sliced corned beef to a serving platter, placing it in the center. Arrange the cooked vegetables around the corned beef on the serving platter. (Larger rounds cut in half) and add the olive oil. Once the pot is hot, sauté the chopped carrots, and minced garlic until the vegetables become tender. Add the rinsed split peas, and the rest of the ingredients. Stir everything together to combine the ingredients. Pour in the chicken broth (or water) into the Instant Pot. The liquid should cover all the ingredients by an inch or so. If you prefer a thicker soup, you can reduce the amount of liquid slightly. Cancel the Sauté function, close the Instant Pot lid, and make sure the steam release valve is set to the "Sealing" position. Select the "Soup" or "Manual" setting and set the cooking time to 12-15 minutes at high pressure. The actual cooking time will vary based on the model and size of your Instant Pot. Once the cooking cycle is complete, allow the pressure to release naturally for about 10-15 minutes. Then carefully do a quick release of any remaining pressure by turning the steam release valve to "Venting." Open the Instant Pot lid and check the seasoning. Add Diced Ham Add salt and pepper to taste. Serve the split pea soup hot in bowls and enjoy it on its own or with some crusty bread on the side. Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to several days. Like the stovetop version, the flavors tend to improve with time. Using the Instant Pot significantly reduces the cooking time and helps develop the flavors of the soup quickly. It's a great option for busy days when you want a comforting and nutritious meal without spending too much time in the kitchen. Thank you so much for supporting my site Stove Top Directions Rinse the split peas: Start by rinsing the dried split peas under cold water in a strainer or colander. Remove any debris or impurities. Sauté the the carrots, heat some olive oil over medium heat. Sauté until the vegetables become tender. Add split peas and seasoning: Stir in the rinsed split peas, Mix everything together. Add liquid: Pour in the vegetable or chicken broth (or water) into the pot. The liquid should cover all the ingredients by an inch or so. If you prefer a thicker soup, you can reduce the amount of liquid slightly. Bring to a boil: Increase the heat to high and bring the mixture to a boil. Once boiling, reduce the heat to low and let the soup simmer. Simmer the soup: Cover the pot with a lid, leaving it slightly ajar to allow steam to escape. Let the soup simmer for about 1 to 1.5 hours, stirring occasionally. The split peas should become tender and start to break down, creating a thick and creamy texture. Check seasoning: Taste the soup and add salt and pepper to your liking. Remember that if you added ham or ham hock, they might already add some saltiness, so adjust accordingly. Add Ham 30 Minutes before soup is finished. Serve: Ladle the hot split pea soup into bowls and enjoy it on its own or with some crusty bread on the side. Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to several days. The flavors tend to improve with time, so it's a great soup to make ahead. Feel free to adjust the recipe to suit your taste preferences and add any other vegetables or seasonings you like. Split pea soup is versatile and forgiving, making it an excellent choice for a hearty and comforting meal on a chilly day. Thank you so much for supporting my site Split Soup Variations Split Pea Soup: The classic split pea soup is made with green or yellow split peas, onions, carrots, celery, garlic, and vegetable or meat broth. It's often seasoned with thyme, bay leaves, and pepper. Ham hocks or bacon can be added for extra flavor. Yellow Split Pea Soup: Similar to the classic split pea soup, this variation specifically uses yellow split peas. It may have a milder taste compared to green split pea soup. Red Lentil Soup: While not technically made with split peas, red lentil soup is another popular legume-based soup. It's made with red lentils, onions, carrots, tomatoes, and various spices like cumin, turmeric, and coriander. Dal (Indian Split Lentil Soup): Dal is a traditional Indian soup made from various split lentils, such as split mung beans or split red lentils. It is usually seasoned with Indian spices like cumin, turmeric, mustard seeds, and curry leaves. Pea and Ham Soup: A variation of split pea soup, but with the addition of diced ham, which adds a smoky and savory flavor to the dish. Smoky Split Pea Soup: This version is made with smoked split peas or incorporates smoked ingredients like smoked paprika or liquid smoke to infuse the soup with a smoky flavor. Vegetarian Split Pea Soup: A meatless version of the classic split pea soup, using vegetable broth and omitting any meat-based additives. Moroccan Harira Soup: Though not made with split peas, this soup includes lentils along with chickpeas, tomatoes, onions, and a blend of spices like cinnamon, cumin, and ginger. It's a hearty and flavorful soup. Split Pea and Potato Soup: A variation that combines split peas with chunks of potatoes for added texture and heartiness. Creamy Split Pea Soup: In this variation, the soup is blended to a smooth and creamy consistency, often with the addition of coconut milk or cream. These are just a few examples of split soup variations. Feel free to experiment with different ingredients and flavors to create your own unique and delicious split pea-based soup recipes!

Gradually add the chicken broth mixture, whisking continuously to prevent lumps from forming. Bring the mixture to a simmer and cook for about 5-7 minutes, stirring frequently, until it thickens to your desired consistency. Stir in the onion powder and black pepper. Taste and add salt if needed. Serve hot over your favorite dishes. Thank you so much for supporting my site Tips To Get the Best Results: KFC Copycat Gravy Roux Consistency: Pay attention to the roux (mixture of flour and butter) color. Achieve a golden-brown color without burning it for the best flavor. Whisking Technique: Whisk continuously when adding the broth to the roux to avoid lumps. A smooth consistency is key to a velvety gravy. Bouillon Cubes: Dissolve the beef and chicken bouillon cubes completely in warm chicken broth before adding them to the roux. This ensures even distribution of flavor. Adjust Seasoning: Taste the gravy before serving and adjust the seasoning accordingly. You can add more pepper or other seasonings to suit your preferences. Thickening: If the gravy is too thin, let it simmer a bit longer to reach the desired thickness. If it's too thick, you can add a bit more broth. Serve Hot: Gravy is best served hot, so try to serve it immediately after preparation for the most enjoyable experience. Thank you so much for supporting my site To store This Copycat KFC gravy, follow these steps: Refrigeration: Allow the gravy to cool to room temperature before transferring it to an airtight container. Seal the container and refrigerate the gravy within 2 hours of preparation. Labeling: Clearly label the container with the date of preparation to help keep track of its freshness. Reheating: When ready to use, gently reheat the refrigerated gravy on the stovetop over low to medium heat. Stir continuously to maintain a smooth consistency and prevent burning. Freezing (Optional): If you have a large batch or want to store the gravy for an extended period, consider freezing it. Pour the cooled gravy into a freezer-safe container, leaving some space for expansion, and freeze. Gravy can typically be stored in the freezer for 2-3 months.
