If you don’t have leaner ground beef, you can pan fry the beef separately, drain well and rinse and soak up the excess oil before adding it to the pan with the other ingredients. Spices– For a spicier kick, add cayenne pepper or red pepper flakes. Sauté the Meat: Set your Instant Pot to the "Sauté" function. Brown the hamburger or turkey burger in the pot, breaking it apart into small pieces as it cooks. Drain the Meat: Drain and rinse the cooked hamburger directly in the Instant Pot to remove excess grease. Add Ingredients: Add the chili powder, onion powder, garlic powder, tomato sauce, and drained diced tomatoes to the Instant Pot. Stir well to combine all ingredients evenly. Pressure Cook: Secure the Instant Pot lid, set the valve to "Sealing", and select "Manual" or "Pressure Cook" on High pressure for 15 minutes. Natural Release: Once the cooking cycle is complete, allow for a natural release for about 10 minutes. Afterward, carefully perform a quick release to release any remaining pressure. Thicken the Chili: Open the lid and stir the chili. Check the thickness. If the chili needs more thickening, set the Instant Pot back to "Sauté" mode and let it simmer for a few minutes. Stir in the Thick-It to finish thickening the chili to your desired consistency. Serve: Ladle the keto chili into bowls and top each serving with shredded cheddar cheese. Paper Towel: Gently wipe any dirt or debris off the mushrooms using a slightly damp paper towel. Be gentle to avoid damaging the delicate caps. Breathable Container: Place the cleaned mushrooms in a paper bag, a breathable produce storage bag, or a partially open container lined with paper towels. This helps absorb excess moisture and allows air circulation. Refrigeration: Put the container or bag in the vegetable crisper drawer of your refrigerator. Shiitake mushrooms can stay fresh for up to a week if stored this way. Long-Term Storage (Dried Shiitake Mushrooms): Keep Dry: Dried shiitake mushrooms have a longer shelf life and more intense flavor compared to fresh ones. Store them in a cool, dry place in an airtight container, away from direct sunlight and moisture. You can store them in quart jars with oxygen absorbers to keep them for long term storage. Rehydration: To use dried shiitake mushrooms, follow the rehydration process mentioned above. After rehydrating, you can use them immediately or store them in the refrigerator for a few days. For long-term storage: it's advisable to store them in a cool, dark place. This helps preserve their flavor, quality, and shelf life. Airtight containers placed in a cool, dark pantry or cupboard are ideal for keeping dried shiitake mushrooms in optimal condition. Make sure the storage area is dry and well-ventilated as well. This method helps prevent exposure to light, moisture, and temperature fluctuations, which can degrade the mushrooms' quality over time. Remember that freshness is key when it comes to mushrooms. We understood it because we were long time preppers who were prepared, (or so we thought.) We never imagined of all things running out of toilet paper, or aluminum foil, but those are some of the things we hadn't prepped. Freezer bags were another, but I've been canning for years so those didn't really bother me. We were pretty stocked up on the rest. How we prep is not by going to the store and wiping the isles clean (lol) but for years we have bought extra of pantry items and non- perishables . It adds up fast. If we needed Garlic Salt we bought 4 (put 2 up and used 2) when I got low on one of the two I used, I would buy 4 more. Then I ended up with 4 in stock. Spices and things don't go bad for a long time if stored right. We bought a food saver and the Jar Sealing kit so we could seal our mason jars (air tight) that way we could seal our spices after each use. (it's easy) Learn how to can, it's not as scary as you might think, and with the presto canning pressure cooker , it's a whole lot easier. It will come in handy if your freezer ever goes out too! There are tons of canning recipes, and if you take them step by step , you should be fine. I also have the 8 qt and 3 qt Instant Pot. (Great for canning small jars of jams and jellies.) YouTube is great for teaching you everything you ever wanted to know about canning and prepping, and it's one of those skills that will not only save you a ton of money, but it's something you can pass down to your own kids. (So that they know how) Let's face it, the world is only getting worse, and knowing you are one step ahead is not only comforting it's a survival skill, that will be a valuable tool for the rest of your life. Storing Water (FEMA) recommends storing tap water in clean plastic, glass, enameled metal, or fiberglass containers. Once you have filled the container, it should be tightly sealed and stored in a dark, cool place. Every six months you need to replace water. Bottled water will last indefinitely. If you buy bottled water , buy 1 or 2 extra a week and store them. Until you have enough for 3 to 6 months. The water itself will last indefinitely if kept in a cool dark area, however we all need to keep in mind, that this may not remain potable (drinking) due to plastic break down. It is best to store in glass containers, it is always best when storing water for a long term to have chlorine tablets on hand to insure disinfecting. You can use the dispensing machines, just change out the water every six months or keep chlorine tablets on hand. What are some things you keep on hand? If you are a prepper, what are some of your tips? Comment Below Join Us for the latest updates: Facebook Pinterest YouTube Instagram LinkedIn

Thank you so much for supporting my site Storing the Garlic Butter Sausage and Veggie Packets, as well as any leftovers, is important to maintain their freshness and safety. Here's how to do it: 1. Before Cooking: If you want to prepare the packets in advance but not cook them immediately, you can assemble the sausage and veggie packets as per the recipe instructions. Once assembled, place the foil packets in an airtight container or a large resealable plastic bag. Keep the container or bag in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours before baking. This way, you can enjoy a freshly baked meal without the prep work when you're ready to cook. 2. After Cooking: If you have leftovers after baking, it's important to handle and store them properly to prevent foodborne illnesses. Follow these steps: Allow the cooked sausage and veggie packets to cool down to room temperature before refrigerating. Carefully open the foil packets and transfer any leftover contents to airtight containers or resealable bags. Label the containers with the date to keep track of freshness. Store the containers in the refrigerator for up to 3 to 4 days. 3. Reheating: When you're ready to enjoy the leftovers, follow these guidelines for reheating: Preheat your oven to around 350°F (175°C). If reheating in the foil packets, place them directly in the preheated oven for about 15-20 minutes or until heated through. Alternatively, you can transfer the contents to an oven-safe dish and cover it with aluminum foil. You can also reheat in a microwave-safe dish, covering it with a microwave-safe cover or paper towel to prevent splatters. Heat in short intervals, stirring occasionally to ensure even heating. Remember that the texture of some veggies might change after refrigeration and reheating. It's best to reheat gently to prevent overcooking. 4. Freezing: If you want to freeze the uncooked packets for future use, assemble the packets as per the recipe but do not add the garlic butter. Wrap each packet tightly in plastic wrap and then place them in an airtight container or resealable freezer bags. These can be stored in the freezer for up to 2-3 months. When you're ready to cook, thaw the packets in the refrigerator before baking, then add the garlic butter and follow the cooking instructions. By following these storage and reheating guidelines, you can ensure that your Garlic Butter Sausage and Veggie Packets remain safe, delicious, and enjoyable even after the initial preparation.

Restaurant Style Mexican Rice Copycat Taco Bell's Pintos 'n Cheese Restaurant Style Guacamole Mexican Street Corn Copycat Taco Bell's Red Sauce Mexican Beef Casserole Mexican Taco Filling How to Make Beef Chimichangas with Creamy Lime Sauce Step 1: Prepare the Beef Filling Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it into crumbles as it cooks. Drain any excess grease. Add the diced onions and cook for 4–5 minutes, or until softened. Stir in the minced garlic and cook for 30 seconds, just until fragrant. Season the beef with the cumin, chili powder, salt, and black pepper. Stir well and cook for 1 minute to allow the spices to bloom and develop their flavor. Add the refried beans and mix until everything is fully combined and heated through. Remove the skillet from the heat and allow the filling to cool for 5 minutes before assembling the chimichangas. Step 2: Assemble the Chimichangas Lay one flour tortilla on a clean work surface. Spoon about ½ to ¾ cup of the beef filling into the center of the tortilla. Sprinkle with shredded cheddar cheese. Fold the sides of the tortilla inward, then tightly roll it into a burrito, making sure the filling is completely enclosed. If needed, secure the seam with a toothpick. Repeat with the remaining tortillas. Step 3: Make the Creamy Lime Sauce In a medium bowl, whisk together: Sour cream Mayonnaise Fresh lime juice Ground cumin Chili powder Salt Black pepper Mix until smooth and creamy. Cover and refrigerate until ready to serve. Step 4: Fry the Chimichangas Pour enough vegetable oil into a deep skillet or Dutch oven to reach about 2 inches deep. Heat the oil to 350°F. Carefully place 2–3 chimichangas into the hot oil, seam-side down. Fry for 3–4 minutes per side, turning as needed, until evenly golden brown and crispy. Transfer the cooked chimichangas to a wire rack or paper towel-lined plate to drain while you cook the remaining chimichangas. Step 5: Garnish & Serve Place the hot chimichangas on a serving plate. Drizzle generously with the Creamy Lime Sauce or serve it on the side for dipping. Top with your favorite garnishes, such as: Fresh pico de gallo Chopped cilantro Sliced green onions Extra shredded cheddar cheese Diced avocado Fresh lime wedges Serve immediately while the chimichangas are hot and crispy. ❤️ Connie's Tips Don't overfill the tortillas. A little less filling makes them much easier to roll and keeps them from opening while frying. Let the filling cool slightly before assembling. This helps the tortillas stay firm and makes rolling much easier. Maintain the oil at 350°F. If the oil is too cool, the chimichangas will absorb excess oil. If it's too hot, they'll brown before the filling is heated through. Fry in small batches to keep the oil temperature consistent and ensure every chimichanga turns out perfectly crispy. Use freshly shredded cheese for the best melt and the creamiest filling. Recipe Variations 🍗 Chicken Chimichangas Swap the ground beef for shredded cooked chicken. Season with taco seasoning or a blend of cumin, chili powder, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Finish with cheddar or Monterey Jack cheese. 🥬 Vegetarian Chimichangas Skip the meat and fill your chimichangas with black beans, pinto beans, sautéed onions, bell peppers, zucchini, corn, diced tomatoes, and your favorite cheese for a hearty vegetarian meal. 🍤 Seafood Chimichangas Replace the beef with cooked shrimp, lump crab meat, or a seafood blend. Season lightly with Old Bay or Cajun seasoning and serve with the Creamy Lime Sauce. 🍳 Breakfast Chimichangas Fill with scrambled eggs, breakfast sausage or bacon, cheddar cheese, and diced green chiles. Serve with salsa, sour cream, or your favorite hot sauce. 🧀 Bean & Cheese Chimichangas Keep it simple with refried beans, shredded cheddar cheese, and green onions. A perfect meatless option that's quick, easy, and delicious. 🤠 BBQ Beef Chimichangas Mix the seasoned beef with your favorite barbecue sauce before filling the tortillas. Add cheddar or Monterey Jack cheese and serve with coleslaw for a fun twist. 🍄 Mushroom & Spinach Chimichangas Sauté fresh mushrooms, spinach, garlic, and onions until tender. Mix with cream cheese and Monterey Jack for a rich, creamy vegetarian filling. 🌶️ Loaded Tex-Mex Chimichangas Add Mexican rice, corn, black olives, diced green chiles, and extra cheese to the filling for a hearty restaurant-style chimichanga loaded with Tex-Mex flavor. 🔥 Buffalo Chicken Chimichangas Combine shredded chicken with Buffalo sauce, cheddar cheese, and a little cream cheese. Serve with ranch or blue cheese dressing for dipping. 🍓 Dessert Chimichangas Fill flour tortillas with sweetened cream cheese and fresh strawberries, blueberries, bananas, or apple pie filling. Fry until golden, then roll in cinnamon sugar and drizzle with chocolate or caramel sauce. ❤️ Connie's Favorite Crispy Smothered Chimichangas Instead of serving the sauce on the side, place the chimichangas on a plate and generously spoon the warm Creamy Lime Sauce over the top. Finish with fresh pico de gallo, shredded cheddar cheese, sliced green onions, cilantro, diced avocado, and a squeeze of fresh lime. Serve with Mexican rice and refried beans for a restaurant-style dinner that's sure to impress. Did You Make This Recipe?
