Serve the unstuffed cabbage rolls hot, optionally topping with shredded cheese if desired. Enjoy your deconstructed cabbage rolls! Thank you so much for supporting my site Tips To Make This Deconstructed Cabbage Recipe A Success: General Tips for Both Methods: Use Lean Ground Meat: Opt for lean ground beef or turkey to reduce excess grease in the dish. If using higher-fat meat, make sure to drain the fat well after browning. Chop Ingredients Evenly: Ensure the cabbage, onion, and garlic are chopped evenly. This helps in cooking them uniformly and enhances the texture of the dish. Dissolve Bouillon Cubes Properly: Make sure the beef bouillon cubes are fully dissolved in hot water before adding to the pot to ensure an even distribution of flavor. Season to Taste: Taste the dish after cooking and adjust the seasoning as needed. You can add more salt, pepper, or herbs to suit your preference. Garnish and Serve: Top with shredded cheese or fresh herbs like parsley for added flavor and presentation. Serve hot to enjoy the full, comforting flavors of the dish. Stovetop Tips: Use a Large Enough Pot: Use a large skillet or pot to ensure there is enough room for the ingredients to cook evenly without overcrowding. Cook the Cabbage Properly: When adding the chopped cabbage, cook until it starts to wilt before adding the liquids. This helps in reducing the overall cooking time. Stir Frequently: Stir the mixture occasionally while simmering to prevent sticking and to ensure even cooking. Add Cooked Rice Last: Stir in the cooked rice after the cabbage is tender and the flavors are well combined. This prevents the rice from becoming mushy and helps maintain its texture. Instant Pot Tips: Don't Overcrowd the Instant Pot: If your Instant Pot is smaller, consider halving the recipe or cooking in batches to avoid overcrowding, which can affect cooking efficiency. Deglaze the Pot: After sautéing the meat and vegetables, deglaze the pot with a bit of water or broth to avoid the "Burn" warning. This involves scraping up any browned bits from the bottom of the pot. Check the Seal and Vent: Ensure the Instant Pot lid is properly sealed and the vent is set to "Sealing" to build up the necessary pressure for cooking. Natural Pressure Release: Allow the Instant Pot to naturally release pressure for at least 10 minutes before quick-releasing the remaining pressure. This helps in achieving the perfect texture for the cabbage and prevents splattering. Add Cooked Rice at the End: Stir in the cooked rice after the pressure cooking is complete. This prevents the rice from becoming too mushy and helps maintain its texture. By following these tips, you can ensure that your deconstructed cabbage rolls are flavorful, well-cooked, and satisfying whether you make them on the stovetop or in the Instant Pot. Enjoy your deconstructed cabbage dish, and don't be afraid to get creative with the ingredients and flavors to make it your own! Ensure that the jars are covered with at least 1-2 inches of water. Bring the water to a full rolling boil and process for 15 minutes (adjust for altitude if necessary). Cool and Check Seals: After processing, turn off the heat and let the jars sit in the canner for 5 minutes. Carefully remove the jars and place them on a clean, dry towel. Allow them to cool completely. Check Seals: Once the jars are cool, press down on the center of each lid. If it doesn't flex, the jar is sealed. If it pops back, refrigerate the jar and use the sauce within a week. Store: Label the sealed jars with the date and store them in a cool, dark place for up to a year. We understood it because we were long time preppers who were prepared, (or so we thought.) We never imagined of all things running out of toilet paper, or aluminum foil, but those are some of the things we hadn't prepped. Freezer bags were another, but I've been canning for years so those didn't really bother me. We were pretty stocked up on the rest. How we prep is not by going to the store and wiping the isles clean (lol) but for years we have bought extra of pantry items and non- perishables . It adds up fast. If we needed Garlic Salt we bought 4 (put 2 up and used 2) when I got low on one of the two I used, I would buy 4 more. Then I ended up with 4 in stock. Storing Water (FEMA) recommends storing tap water in clean plastic, glass, enameled metal, or fiberglass containers. Once you have filled the container, it should be tightly sealed and stored in a dark, cool place. Every six months you need to replace water. Bottled water will last indefinitely. If you buy bottled water , buy 1 or 2 extra a week and store them. Until you have enough for 3 to 6 months. The water itself will last indefinitely if kept in a cool dark area, however we all need to keep in mind, that this may not remain potable (drinking) due to plastic break down. It is best to store in glass containers, it is always best when storing water for a long term to have chlorine tablets on hand to insure disinfecting. You can use the dispensing machines, just change out the water every six months or keep chlorine tablets on hand. What are some things you keep on hand? Thank you so much for supporting my site Storing the Garlic Butter Sausage and Veggie Packets, as well as any leftovers, is important to maintain their freshness and safety. Here's how to do it: 1. Before Cooking: If you want to prepare the packets in advance but not cook them immediately, you can assemble the sausage and veggie packets as per the recipe instructions. Once assembled, place the foil packets in an airtight container or a large resealable plastic bag. Keep the container or bag in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours before baking. This way, you can enjoy a freshly baked meal without the prep work when you're ready to cook. 2. After Cooking: If you have leftovers after baking, it's important to handle and store them properly to prevent foodborne illnesses. Follow these steps: Allow the cooked sausage and veggie packets to cool down to room temperature before refrigerating. Carefully open the foil packets and transfer any leftover contents to airtight containers or resealable bags. Label the containers with the date to keep track of freshness. Store the containers in the refrigerator for up to 3 to 4 days. 3. Reheating: When you're ready to enjoy the leftovers, follow these guidelines for reheating: Preheat your oven to around 350°F (175°C). If reheating in the foil packets, place them directly in the preheated oven for about 15-20 minutes or until heated through. Alternatively, you can transfer the contents to an oven-safe dish and cover it with aluminum foil. You can also reheat in a microwave-safe dish, covering it with a microwave-safe cover or paper towel to prevent splatters. Heat in short intervals, stirring occasionally to ensure even heating. Remember that the texture of some veggies might change after refrigeration and reheating. It's best to reheat gently to prevent overcooking. 4. Freezing: If you want to freeze the uncooked packets for future use, assemble the packets as per the recipe but do not add the garlic butter. Wrap each packet tightly in plastic wrap and then place them in an airtight container or resealable freezer bags. These can be stored in the freezer for up to 2-3 months. When you're ready to cook, thaw the packets in the refrigerator before baking, then add the garlic butter and follow the cooking instructions. By following these storage and reheating guidelines, you can ensure that your Garlic Butter Sausage and Veggie Packets remain safe, delicious, and enjoyable even after the initial preparation.

  • Cucumber, Tomato and Onion Salad | Lovemyinstantpot

A cucumber, tomato, and onion salad made with ranch yogurt dressing, It combines the crispness of cucumbers, the juiciness of tomatoes, and the mild bite of onions, all dressed with a tangy and creamy ranch yogurt dressing. Summertime Cucumber, Onion and Tomato Salad Share Don’t forget to check out my Instagram account – Or give me a follow on Facebook or see what I am pinning on Pinterest or Twitter ! A cucumber, tomato, and onion salad made with ranch yogurt dressing is a refreshing and delicious dish that's perfect for the summer months or any time you want a light and healthy salad. It combines the crispness of cucumbers, the juiciness of tomatoes, and the mild bite of onions, all dressed with a tangy and creamy ranch yogurt dressing. You Will Need 1/2 Cup Yogurt Ranch Dip (directions below) 1/4 Cup Heavy Cream 2 Large Cucumbers 1 Carton Cherry Tomatoes 1 Small To Medium Onion 1/4 tsp Salt 1/4 tsp Pepper Boiled Eggs (optional) Thank you so much for supporting my site Storing cucumber, tomato, and onion salad requires some care to maintain its freshness and texture. Here are the steps to store the salad properly: Refrigeration: Place the salad in an airtight container or cover the salad bowl tightly with plastic wrap or a lid. Separate the dressing: If possible, store the salad dressing separately from the vegetables to prevent the salad from becoming too soggy or the flavors from blending too much. Keep it cool: Store the salad in the refrigerator at a temperature of 40°F (4°C) or below. Avoid leaving the salad at room temperature for an extended period to prevent bacterial growth. Best consumption timeframe: Cucumber, tomato, and onion salad are best when consumed within 1 to 2 days of preparation. The vegetables can release water over time, making the salad watery and less appealing. Re-toss before serving: If you're serving the salad after it has been stored, give it a gentle toss to redistribute the dressing and flavors. Note about cucumber: Cucumbers tend to release moisture, which can affect the salad's texture. If you notice excessive water after refrigeration, you can drain the liquid before serving. Consider adding dressing before serving: If you plan to serve the salad later, add the dressing just before serving to keep the vegetables crisp and fresh. Keep in mind that cucumber, tomato, and onion salad is best enjoyed when freshly prepared. If you anticipate having leftovers, it's a good idea to prepare only the amount you'll consume immediately and add the dressing as needed. This way, you can maintain the salad's freshness and avoid potential texture changes caused by storing it for too long. Directions Make Yogurt as you would, I use the following recipe. Mix 3/4 cup Ranch Seasoning to make the dip, to make the dressing take 1/2 cup dip and add 1/4 Heavy Cream. slice cucumbers, add cherry tomatoes, peel and slice one small to medium onion, (separate slices) add your dressing, and salt and pepper Mix well. This hickory bacon seasoning is what makes this recipe! It's not only amazing on ribs, but you could also use it for steaks as well as Roast etc. Read our comments below, they are simply out of this world amazing!~ Pit Boss Hickory Bacon Seasoning Are Baby Back Ribs Beef? No, baby back ribs are not beef; they are pork ribs. Baby back ribs are a specific type of pork rib that comes from the upper back area of the pig, closer to the spine. They are called "baby" back ribs because they are smaller and more tender compared to spare ribs, which come from the lower belly area of the pig. Beef ribs, on the other hand, come from cattle and are larger and meatier than pork ribs. There are different cuts of beef ribs, such as short ribs and back ribs, and they have a distinct flavor and texture compared to pork ribs. So, to clarify, baby back ribs are pork ribs, while beef ribs come from cattle. Both types of ribs can be delicious when prepared and cooked properly, but they offer different tastes and characteristics due to the variations in the meat. Cooking Instant Pot baby back ribs is a quick and easy way to enjoy tender and flavorful ribs. Here are some tips to help you achieve the best results: Preparing the ribs: Before cooking, remove the membrane from the back of the ribs. This helps the flavors penetrate the meat and ensures a more tender texture. You can ask your butcher to do this for you or do it yourself with a paper towel and a firm grip. Sauté for extra flavor: For an extra layer of flavor, consider sautéing the ribs in the Instant Pot using the " Sauté " function before pressure cooking. This helps to sear the meat, lock in juices, and enhance the taste. Add liquid: Place a cup of liquid (1 Dr. Pepper) in the Instant Pot to create steam and pressure for cooking, to add depth to the ribs. Cooking time: Cook the baby back ribs on high pressure for around 30 minutes. The exact cooking time may vary based on the size and thickness of the ribs. As a general rule, larger racks may require a few more minutes. Natural release vs. quick release: After the cooking cycle is complete, you can do a natural release or a quick release. A natural release allows the pressure to release slowly and naturally, which can help keep the ribs tender. A quick release will release the pressure rapidly, but the ribs may be slightly less tender. Finishing on the grill or broiler: To achieve that classic BBQ flavor and caramelization, brush the ribs with BBQ sauce and finish them on the grill or under the broiler for a few minutes. This step adds a delicious glaze and enhances the overall taste. Resting: After cooking and finishing, allow the ribs to rest for a few minutes before serving. This helps the juices redistribute within the meat, resulting in a more flavorful and juicy bite. With these tips, you can easily make mouthwatering Instant Pot baby back ribs that will impress your family and friends with their tenderness and taste. Enjoy your delicious ribs! Thank you for supporting our site! Award-Winning! The meat is so tender that the bones will just slip right out when gently pulled. I’m not kidding, these are the best ribs EVER!! Just think, you can have super tender baby back ribs ready to eat in less than 45 minutes from start to finish! How-To Video
